About Our Team
At Harding Metals, we have a highly skilled team of experienced people who have been with us for many years. All of us know our business and are qualified to help you, our customers.
President and Co-Owner
I have to say in my life time I have taken a lot of scrap! I have worked full-time during the summers while going to school and full-time year-round after my college years. I have never been employed by anyone other than Harding Metals, Inc. My father died at age 61 and at age 27, my younger brother and I inherited the company. As a rookie, I remember when identifying metals like Hastelloy, Waspalloy, Nickel, Monel, Inconel, Tantalum, Titanium, and Tungsten, etc. were learned on the job by spark testing and acid testing. Now we have hand held metal analyzers that give you results in seconds. My wife Sheila and I love living in our area. If you don’t find us on the slopes or on the boat we just may be traveling. Oh, you might find me at the office too!
Vice President and Co-Owner
I am co-owner and heads up purchasing of commercial scrap accounts. I spend a good deal of my time visiting customers and making sure Harding Metals, Inc. is providing the best service in the industry. Over the years I have been instrumental in developing new and updated designs for equipment we use to service our customers. Along with Ryan Chadbourn and Rheal St. Germain, we have led the way for Harding Metals, Inc. to recondition oils and coolants from many of the machine shops we currently service. I enjoy running, hiking, winter skiing and spending time with my wife Laura, son Jameson and daughter Julia.
My name is Dan Daley but everyone calls me Dan the Man and I have worked at Harding Metals for over 25 years. As GM, I oversee day-to-day operations along with a little bit of dispatch, buying and selling. I am also in charge of our shipping schedule and make sure there is a fresh pot of coffee (junkman java) ready every morning. I enjoy hiking and hunting in my free time.
While everyone else is crunching metal and making it all happen, I am crunching numbers. I am responsible for tracking, organizing and reporting finance and accounting functions for accuracy. If I am not in my office, you can find me on the golf course or some exotic island. I have four children and four grandchildren. I’ve been excited to see all the changes and growth in the business.
I have been with Harding Metals since 1979 and was hired by Mr. Edwin Harding Jr. I have done a variety of jobs including receivable, payables and human resources, from carbon paper to paperless invoicing. I have seen the positive progression in the office and in the scrap yard. Who knew a scrap metal yard could be so clean! In my free time, I like flower and vegetable gardening, sewing and reading.
Warehouse Manager, Receiving
I started working at Harding Metals in 1995 when I was 13 years old. I’ve done a bit of everything including driving trucks over the road, but primarily, I’ve been on the warehouse dock where we do receiving and shipping. I’ve seen us grow from prepping a few trailers a day to over a dozen. All the incoming materials from our account is initially weighed and graded through our scale. The combination of shipments and deliveries along with getting our own trucks ready for account pick-ups is a busy job and I must say we handle a lot of scrap. I have three kids and we enjoy camping and BBQing by the pool.
Yard Manager, Buyer
I’ve worked all over the yard through the years and now my primary job is managing it. I make sure incoming material is processed correctly and organized while helping manage the inventory of finished product. A lot of my focus is on keeping our yard clean and our workers busy and happy. I also do some buying and can make myself available to visit customers and price loads. When I am not in the scrap yard, I enjoy outdoor sports like surfing, skiing and golf.
Administrative Manager, Oil-Recovery
As a kid, I worked summers infringing the boundaries of child labor laws, but I just could not get enough scrap (I love it!). I have been a part of Harding Metals’ evolution into a major regional scrap yard; it’s one the cleanest yards I’ve ever been to and we are proud of that. My current position is administrative manager and I also oversee the oil recovery program we’ve introduced which we are really excited about. If I can get a few days off, I usually take a page out of Jimmy Buffet’s book and head for a beach somewhere warm with a cold drink.
I’ve worked at Harding Metals since 2017 and I am a part of the front office team. I answer phone calls, weigh trucks, and pay our customers. Away from the office, I love to go out on the boat!
I have been in the front office since 2014 and am involved with a little bit of everything; from helping out at the scale, to accounting, to dispatch and much more in between. I contact customers with reoccurring pickups to find out their needs and also take care of accounts receivable. I’m a mom to an amazing 5-year-old. When I’m not working, I’m taking him on adventures, or you’ll find me baking cupcakes… lots and lots of cupcakes.
I’ve been in the scrap metal industry since 2010 and with Harding Metals since 2014. I spend a lot of time on the road visiting accounts and recruiting new customers. I enjoy salt water fishing on the boat.
I am the HR & EHS Manger. The crew calls me Kevbobb. I came to work for Harding Metals in the summer of 2010. I do a lot of behind the scenes work keeping certifications up to date, our yard environmentally sound and our crew/customers safe. I recently obtained my private pilot’s license, and my favorite day of the month is PIZZA DAY, when we provide lunch and safety/operational tips for the employees! If you would like to work for Harding Metals come see me.
We, always, have a crew of at least ten skilled drivers. They are trained to be helpful, courteous, and respectful. When it comes to picking up material at your facility, we are confident and proud sending our drivers in to get the job done professionally.
I have been at Harding Metals since 2010. My primary responsibilities are to provide pricing and other information required by our customers in the recycling material acquisition process. I also create and implement computer systems that streamline processing and help Harding Metals provide superior customer service. Outside of work I enjoy basketball, tennis and golf.
